A lot of the youngsters on here won't know what I'm talking about, but back in the stone age (1970's - 1980's) we had a fantastic tv show called The Great Egg Race.

BBC Magazine Article

Fronted by the excellently eccentric Prof. Heinz Wolff, it was a great programme and now the BBC have digitised it:

BBC - Archive - The Great Egg Race - Cracking feats of engineering

At the time it was one of the best things ever on tv but perhaps I'm a bit biased.

And there was the delectable Charlotte Allen, the thinking-man's totty, as a bonus:

I happen to bump into Heinz Wolff quite a bit round my way. [ Brunel only round the corner from me - and boy would I love to work there ] - one of my fav TV shows - seem to remember it being a BBC2 show.

There's more too!

Keiran Prenderville (Pre or Post That's Life???), Judith Hann, James Burke......All great names from my childhood!!!

The thing is....it's almost like I can remember some of those individual reports, from the time. I'm sure it musty just be a trick of the memory...but that phone......

I quite like what they are doing with Bang Goes The Theory ... I still miss The Great Egg Race and Tomorrow's World though ...

Bang Goes The Theory is a complete rip off of Mythbusters. last nights Ice boat was done by Mythbusters + a few more. I find Mythbusters much better.
