2008 WDS to 2008R2 WDS

Afternoon All,

 

Our Windows 2008R2 license has just arrived to be installed on a Member server which is currently running 2008 standard.

 

Can anyone tell me if I can use the 2008R2 media to upgrade the 2008 server? I don't really want to setup all my WDS stuff again from the beginning.

Just checked our server and it is 64 bit - but we are running the 32 bit 2008. So I'm going to assume that you cannot update a 32 bit OS to a 64 bit OS.

yep thats correct cant do that

 

 

It's always best to do a clean install anyway

Yes I assumed this would be the case so I have started backing up and moving images over to a temporary NAS box today. I'm off tomorrow but can build everything from Monday.

 

I hope you can do dynamic driver provision with WIndows XP
