does any one know of a program to 'pull' how much ram stations across the network have? we have upgraded loads but have some missing, just need to probe them

There was a script posted here a while ago which we use, pulls the ram info and a lot more, called inventory.vbs.

Select your flavour of Documentor from the attachments - JavaScript or Windows Script - and remove the .txt extension. Gives you all sorts of handy info, just runs in a little IE window. Used it a couple of times here, can export to spreadsheet.

You can do it in CC4 without any additional scripts (not sure what you're running though).

how about some Inventory software that would track all your hardware?

The Spicworks is free, but honestly I have never used it. However I ve heard and read about it a lot

One more I can advice is 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer (Network Inventory Software: Audit and Track Network Computer Inventory (Hardware & Software) for Windows). It collects all data about networkhardware and keeps it reports or files that you need.
