TJIT Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Hi, As a school we run a scheme where parents can donate to provide their children with a laptop/ipod/ipad. I want to be able to register their involvement in SIMS, and can do this by creating a UDF, however I would like to be able right click on the column headers in a register and select my UDF, like you can add gender etc. Any help would be really appreciated
rh91uk Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I don't know whether this would be possible in Registers - have you considered storing it in an aspect and using Assessment Manager for this? 1
TJIT Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 Hi rh91UK, I did think about an Aspect but really wanted it in Lesson Monitor. If I can not get it in lesson monitor I will use an Aspect. Thank you
rh91uk Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Just had a dig and I don't think you can do it ... might be worth a post on SupportneT? SupportNet 1
vikpaw Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Adding stuff like that would be a change request, and a big one at that, as you are not asking for a default field e.g. nationality, which i would like to see on registers, you want a custom one, so it needs to be open ended and user (school configurable). As using aspects as workarounds is quite a common solution, i'd go with that, and put it on a general marksheet applied to all reg groups. providing this is a pastoral thing. The marksheet can then be made available via the tabs on the take register screen, and so be close to hand. I think those tabs are there for attendance, it's not just limited to lesson monitor users, but it might be. You could then use the same marksheet for other transient fields, like brought in trip money, or paid for mufti day...
SouthCoastSaint Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 You can add a UDF to a register but as far as I can see it does involve each teacher going into their own attendance setup and ticking to display it in regsiter. Still looking for a global switch on option.
