Gatt Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Anyone had any success getting FMS to run on a 64Bit machines (2008 R2 Remote Desktop in my case) FMS installs fine but errors complaining about Borland... And, as always, getting grief because members of staff want to use it from Home and wont take "It wont work on this server.." for an answer..
rh91uk Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Yes!! FMS on Windows 7 1. Install FMS as per usual 2. Open up command prompt 3. cd C:/Windows/SysWOW64 (or C:/Windows/system32 on x86) 4. run the following takeown /f netapi32.dll icacls netapi32.dll /grant Domain Admins:f 5. Rename the netapi32.dll in C:/Windows/SysWOW64 (or c:/windows/system32) to netapi32old.dll 6. Copy the dll’s in the folder to C:/Windows/SysWOW64 or C:/Windows/system32 7. Run FMS module 8. Choose where your INI file is. 9. You should be able to then login fine to FMS. Accept no responsibility for this document what so ever! Another tip I found is, when installing on a 64bit machine it will install to the (x86) dir - I'd change it to the normal Program Files too. 1

RobFuller Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I've never had to do any of that apart from install FMS in the x64 program files folder instead. Works fine.

I've never known any other line of work whereby staff actively choose to work from home, on top of their full week at work.
