SimpleSi Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I was trying to upgrade some software on a DELL D510 over wireless link and it kept on losing the connection (D-LINK AP) I went and played with configuration settings for the connection and made it use more power when on battery - didn't seem to make any diff. But when I adjusted its "stickyness" roaming setting - (to make it a bit "sticky") it managed to hold its connection. Just for info YMMV. regards Simon
psydii Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Which reminds me: Dell D520 with 3945abg . The wireless connection when managed by WZCFGSVC and using wpa2-psk seems to be very unstable after transferring 500Mb+ The connection remains up but no IP traffic seems to get through. With more recent versions of the driver turning the card off then on again does seem to bring it back to life. The only way to prevent the failure I have found was to upgrade to the latest (december 2007) Dell/Intel drivers and use the Intel wireless management software.
PeterW Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Hmm got an Intel technical notification this morning, try these Intel Wireless Drivers Only Do let us know how you get on!
