Simcfc73 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Has anyone had to give the inspectors access to Sims? I have been asked to look at this just in case they want to look at assessment data but it looks like it always gives you view pupil details which I am wary about due to data protection. Seems overly anal but I don't want us to get a bad mark because I went around giving Sims access wily nily
localzuk Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Never been asked to - all data they ask for is provided in printed form. They have no need to be on your systems at all.
matt40k Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I agree, always heard of them asking for it to be in printed form. Which in it's self is insecure and almost pointless. Still I've not heard of how you complain about them, so whatever they say goes.
maniac Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Not sure about sims, as we have a SIMS administrator who deals with that, but we did supply our inspectors with a couple of laptops in the room they were in which were logged on with generic staff accounts so they could use the internet etc. if needs be. They did get used as well.
Sylv3r Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Theres no guarantee if you provide access for them on SIMS they will know how to use it. As above, they generally see our data in printed form.
