rolfea Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Yet another way for a company to track what the people in the world are doing.. Introducing: iTunes Ping! I could be wrong, but isn't this just another way for Apple to track what music you are listening to? So now: - Tesco knows that I'm buying - Google (supposedly) knows what website I visit (the whole Google Chrome sending reports back to HQ) - Facebook knows.. well almost everything - Several companies know where I am going - iTunes knows what I'm listening too Soon I expect toilet duck to know each time I flush to toilet... I'm not usually one to worry about these internet things, but is this getting stupid. Reminds me of the film V for Vendetta
sidewinder Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Music tracking I dont mind too much, especially not through Apple, as I buy precisely none of it through them anyway Also voluntarily shared my music habits for years with last.fm scrobbling In most other cases though I dont like being tracked...little info on facebook and certainly no use of 'places' or anything similar
CHR1S Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Yeh, the whole FB places thing gets me, when people check into work.... does the burglar check into your house?
