Installing SIMS.net on Windows 7 64-Bit

Hi,

I've been searching online and in some of the Edugeek forums on how to install SIMS.net on Windows 7 64 Bit and unfortunatly I couldn't find any specifics (I'm probably just not looking hard enough).

Anyway I managed to install SIMS.net on Windows 7 64 bit, heres how I did it...

1. Make sure regional and keyboard settings are set to English/UK

2. Turn off UAC

3. Right-Click the installer executable (not shortcuts) and click on "troubleshoot compatibility".

The wizard then suggests running the program in "Win XP SP2" compatibility mode.

The the program in this mode and everything should run smoothly.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Martin..

We found we could just do a manual install - or it can even be done quietly

SIMSApplicationSetup.exe /S {QuietMode} {NoServerApps} [sIMSDotNetDirectory]="%PROGRAMFILES%\SIMS\SIMS.net"

Then copy a good SIMS.ini to the windows folder

Then if you think you need it do the SIMSPerm stuff..

Regards
