Has anyone used QA training?

I'm looking at doing my MCTS courses in Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 before I deploy them both next year and was wondering if anyone had used QA training?

 

The prices seem fair and they offer a good range of courses, a lot of which seem to be run in Birmingham which is handy.

 

If you haven't used them, is there anyone you would recommend?

I'm afraid QA have bought out most other training companies such as Remarc and Interquad (or did Remarc buy Interquad first?)

 

They are the big player now.

 

I did 2 Server 2008 courses with them and was satisfied with both, but it does depend on how good and approachable the trainers are. Did mine in Stockport and Manchester.

Did a Windows 7 course at Washington (Tyne & Wear) with them which was ok.

 

Seemed a bit rushed for the amount of info. involved and the manual we received was a bit lacking, but not the worst training I have ever been to.

 

I would suggest buying the books and doing some home study as well.

I did an ITIL course with them, they were very good - except the coffee machines kept running out

Just done my PRINCE2 with them ... really good with a fantastic tutor.

Like any training, its only as good as the person presenting the session. I did a VMware course in August at Washington. The instructor was great, he's actually been a VMware consultant for many years, so knew lots of little useful tips and tricks useful in the real world. The course was very good and Bryan, the instructor, was able to keep things interesting throughout. I can't recommend that course with that instructor highly enough. The technicians that work with me have also attended courses at Washington and they said they found them good courses with good instructors. They did a Windows 7 Desktop Support Technician course and a Windows Server 2008 course.

 

BTW we got very good pricing from QA as a public sector organisation; 15 days of Microsoft training for the price of 5, and a massive reduction on the VMware course.
