NEC NP 200 Flickering picture

Has anyone one else had problems with this projector.

 

We have 6 in school and they all seem to have the same problem, a very bad flicker display once it's been on a while. We have already sent two back to NEC for repair but they won't tell us what was wrong with them.

Are you using powered video splitters? I had a case once where the projector would flicker really badly until I put in a powered splitter.

Yea they are all going through a powered splitter already.

I've sent all 6 NP200s that we have in one school back to NEC for replacements and then again with 4 or 5 of the replacements, all because of this flickering issue. In the end NEC came out and replaced them all again with some that had been modifed. The only modification I can see, is a silver cover over one of the fan grills.

 

I've never had issues with NECs in the past until we bought the NP200s. Credit to NEC though, they have been very helpful and quick at getting the faulty ones replaced. I just hope the modified ones last.

We have a dozen of these projectors and around half of them have had this problem. We tried to get it sorted a year ago with little success as the cabling in the rooms was suggested as a cause. I am pleased to hear NEC now know how to fix the fault and will try again to get them sorted.
