Hi,

I am after some advice on the best way to setup a thin client setup.

Is it just get licenses, setup 2008 remote desktop on several servers. Setup broker, install software, buy client hardware?

What are the best clients to use?

I just want to use it for office and the Internet. I suspect the biggest performance eater will be flash games:D. I'm thinking of 40 or so simultaneous clients.

I would also like to offer the connection to be available via ruckus guest network and externally via the web site as a remote access solution.

Thanks in advance...

Sorry, more questions ...

How does the licensing work? Is it per connection? Do I need a external connector license if it's available on the Internet?

What does citrix give me over 2008 r2?

Does load balancing on r2 only work by round robin? Or can it be set based on CPU/memory usage?

James if your thin client testing, try an Axel M80 - much more powerful and easy to manage than the HP ones.

I've got 100 HP thin clients here and I wish I didn't!!!

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the referal - would be delighted to send out an M80 to anyone considering thin-clients, can ship out today, no obligation except to return after testing, and no paperwork required - just an email confirming from a school domain....
