TheFopp Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Had some Ruckus gear delivered today (a ZD 1000 and a couple of 7942 APs) so that we could have a bit of a trial before looking at a purchase (Thanks to Mark at CPLTD). Got it set up within 15 minutes. Brilliant! Range is superb in the very small tests we've done so far. More tests next week. I do have one query though. Mark thinks that this can be done but has gone of to check so I thought I'd ask you guys who may have already done this. We've created 2 SSIDs. One called Staff and one called student. As we are a boarding school I'd like to be able to set the Ruckus gear to turn off the Student SSID between, for example, midnight and 6am so that they don't spend the night browsing and downloading stuff, but would like to keep the Staff SSID turned on - some of them keep strange hours!. Is this possible? Cheers Adrian
Haptic Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Hi Adrian, Just found out that this feature will be enabled on firmware ZoneDirector Version 9 (which will be released in the next 2 weeks), with the imaginative title of "Time of Day Usage" this will give a calander, with time options, for each SSID and allow you to apply restrictions as you like. Hope that helps. Thanks, Mark 1
MatthewL Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Just had a look with our Network guys and I know the Aruba bits can do this once we found the tab.
nicholab Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 This could be done on your web filter.
