Hey all,

Just after a bit of advice. What do you do with your old projector lamps/bulbs? I belive the old technician just used to throw them but it's my understanding that this is the wrong thing to do due to mercury content.

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

Dan

P.S. we are a 'green' school so the more enviromentaly friendly the better.

I take them to the tip (which has a recycling point) whenever I happen to be over there. They're not exactly huge, and neither is my school, so they're not a storage problem.

I thought a service had to be provided for by the manufacturer when a new lamp is ordered. I'm not sure on this as I don't handle this sort of stuff, but I'm sure I've seen "telephone this number to dispose of your old lamp" on the side of the box of the new lamp.

Some companies do - others just say dispose of according to local state law - we have varying types of projector and this seems to be the case
