GPO application install status

Hi ppl,

 

I have vanilla domain with server 2008 r2 and windows 7 clients. I'm currently using MDT for deployment of a standard image and intend on adding specific packages for rooms via GPO.

 

My problem is that when I assign the package, upon reboot of the client, I simply get please wait. There is no status of what is being installed. Can this be changed anywhere?

Yes, you want to turn on verbose messages in group policy How to enable verbose startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff status Messages in the Windows Server 2003 family it will then tell you that it is installing applications and what applications it is installing while it is doing them.

Excellent! one of those annoying "I must find out where that's gone, but I dont really have the time just now and it's not critical" issues
