Hi All,

When logging in for the FIRST time with a newly create domain account I receive the following error message "The user profile service failed the logon" "User profile cannot be loaded" and logon fails. We have W7 accross the board.

I have read about this issue where an existing user profile has been deleted but this is for new accounts where a profile has not yet been created.

I should also point out that I am using XIA Automation Server to create the accounts. All directory permissions etc, appear to be correct and the new accounts are in the right Security Groups.

Any ideas?

It's driving me nuts!!

Cheers,

Stu

Interesting. We've notice this happening on the odd machine, for us it was a new user also that couldn't the User Profile Service failed.

Looking at the event logs of the machine, we had all sorts of 'Access Denied' errors when trying to copy files from c:\users\default\appdata\roaming . We tried just deleting the 'roaming' and 'local' folder, restarted and now it would appear we can log new users in again. Takes a bit longer than normal for that logon as I guess it's rebuilding these default areas again.

Tech has found various posts on various forums with similar issues and it would appear that a windows update has been upsetting a few things. Not convinced this is the exact reason and would love to found out the problem so we're not just 'fixing' it if it occurs again.
