Spiteful neg rep?

Although I've been reading these forums for a few months now, I'm pretty new around here in terms of being a subscriber.

 

I have hardly posted anything to the forums, and certainly nothing that would warrant someone 'spitefully' leaving a message "have some neg rep", meaning my rep is -111 !

 

Just what is it with some of the nasty people in these forums? The thread where the rep was left is no longer available, but I cannot imagine why someone would want to do that in the first place.

 

It's really put me off bothering with Edugeek to be honest.

 

I don't suppose who ever did it is willing to 'stand up' and explain themselves? Just what did I do that warrants you acting in such a spiteful and unwelcoming manner?

Sorry to here that, it might be worth sticking a message in the Message the Admins forum so they can investigate what has gone on. I'm sure there is a way they could revers the negative rep if they find it's someone being stupid.

I have posted a message to the admins, so we'll see what happens.

i was left the same comment 'have some negative rep' on a thread. I thought i had a fairly good idea who it was, but now i'm not so sure. The worst thing is that there's no explanation/justification, just an attitude of don't like different opinions from some people so there.

I received neg rep for posting NSFW links without adding a disclaimer, did you ?

 

Don't appear to have, and the nsfw part is tricky for web filtering to log, but amended the post for those unfamiliar with PA. There's a bowdlerized version somewhere, but it lack the impact of the original.

Rep? Ignore it, I'd rather let words speak instead of some little bar. The rep meter has been a source of controversy for some time as it's accuracy is questionable at best sometimes.

Just curious where do you check to see neg rep or where it was left , do you get an email notif to show you got neg rep ?

 

Its listed in the usercp (click settings next to your avatar at the top) at the bottom. Only admins can see who left you rep using the admin sytem.

Actually, I suspect that "Someone" had been dogmatic in a previous post and didn't like being told that they were making generalisations that might not work in all cases, and they felt that this was a suitable way to "pay me back" for calling them on it.
