What is the common way for people to give their users offline files? I wanted to sync mydocs, but it would seem that teachers have too much in there to do so (up to 40gb), so I thought about syncing their personal saves area on the network so it was always available offline too, but cannot see to get that to work as a group policy? I added the name of it \\server\folder\folder\%USERNAME% but it doesn't seem to be available offline? It's on a 2k server, any suggestions? I did it under User and not computer, should I do it in the computer part of the policy?

i do \\server\users$\staff\%username% but i block all music, video, and jpg from syncing. to its faster and saves on space on the HDD..

Doesnt seem to work for me, where did you specify that? And also how do you stop certain files?

If it's Windows 2000 isn't there an option for the user to chose what's available off line? I seem to recall a tick box somewhere, sorry I can't be more specific - it's been a while since I dealt with W2K.
