Whats the best iso creator so that I can put some DVD's on my netbook for daughter when on holiday. Whats the best to play them back, Media Player Classic or VLC VideoLAN, or is there a better way without having to convert them to video files?

DVD Decrypter does it as far as I can remember.

It's neater to rip with something like handbrake, but if theres a lack of time and space isnt too much of an issue, I can see why you want to go the ISO method

For playing them back, I've never had any problems using VLC to play ISOs. Edited by ajs

Its time and really thats as issue as trying to convert them to mpg takes a while with my pc (I know from putting a couple of DVDs on her Ipod for her) so though a quick convert to iso would be the best but just looking for a quick and easy prog to convert it to an iso.

An ISO may fail if the DVD is protected, you could use DVD shrink set not to compress, that way you aren't waaaaaaiting for the DVD to be re-encoded.

I thought we had a rule about breaking the law on these forums ;)

Format shifting media you legally own for use on another device that you legally own is only a problem legally because the law is idiotic and needs changing.

Actually its illegal to give a copy of any file to siblings, its not even about the format shifting :(
