ok i know this probly dont live here but here goes. i have created a simple cd for some teachers. its all works fine i just have one problem there are some zip files which they can copy if they want and i need to create a explore c hyperlink any idears please not good at that type of stuff. can do it to a file. i just ned it to open explore on cd letter (problem i have is diffrent computers have diffrent letters for cd rom)

what are you trying to do exactly ?

could you not use the 'autorun' command? i.e.

 

[autorun]

open = name of cdrom

 

burn it onto the root of the cdrom as "autorun.inf"

 

to get an idea of how it works, find a pre recorded cdrom which autoruns, right click to Explore and look for the autorun.inf file. hope this helps

To link to a folder in an tag, you should use something like this:

what a trying to do it i have got a web page on a cdrom which links to all the pdf files on the cdrom it all works fine the problem i have is that there are some zip folders which they can copy and paste to wherever they like with flipcharts in. what i whan to be able to do is for the to click a link on the webpage and it will open the root dir of the said cdrom for the to browse and copy file to there home pc. sorry if i did not make it clear enough only had two hours to do this but have manage to get more ttime. its just at the moment they click the cd rom and the autorun file runs and the get the web page. ( i have told them to right click and goto explore but they keep forgetting)

The webpage is on the cd and you want to open a folder on the said cd to show file/resources.!?!

 

This is what i would do:

Use relative urls. So instead of saying for example

I would just link to the folder windows will(should) open that folder in all its glory.

NOTE: As long as there is no index.html page within the said folder this should work.
