SFC / Scanfil = "name and file path": Scans the specified file, and repaired if damaged

SFC / scannow: Immediately scans all system files and repairs damaged files

SFC / scanonce: Scans the system files on the next restart

SFC / VERIFYFILE = "name and file path": Scans only the file specified

SFC / VERIFYONLY: Scans only those files system

SHUTDOWN: Shut down Windows

SHUTDOWN-A: To interrupt Windows shutdown

System File Checker (Requires Windows CD if the cache is not available):

• Enter cmd in the Open box, and click OK
  
• Type dvdupgrd /detect and press Enter
  
• A Windows dialog box will open with identifying information about the installed software. If No decoders found is displayed, no decoder is installed

just type it into the run box on XP, or cmd prompt in windows 7 (netplwiz works from the search thingy off the button).

 

Not sure vista, but i guess it's the same.
