RTi Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Has anyone replaced a keyboard on the older Mobile One laptops?? I have had a quick look and the keyboard doesnt seem that easy to get to.. Thanks
rad Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 is it this type http://regmedia.co.uk/2005/09/13/rm_1.jpg or this type http://www.rm.com/_RMVirtual/Media/Images/Mobile-One-for-HE-400400.jpg If the first one, its an easy one, you have to slide the nodges that are above the Function keys, then it should pop out, if not check for screws underneath with a keyboard icon near them. Let me know which model is the one you have and might be able to take a picture on monday.
Hawkeyez Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Top one is as described, newer is the same, but there are 2 screws underneath. They are both labelled "K". They can be fiddly, just becareful not to push them to to far. Gary
RTi Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 Hi, It's the top one.. there is a document on the RM Site.. but it says i dont have enough access rights to view it..
Educare_AV Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I may have a disassembly guide, I will dig it out for you. From memory it is as Rad describes, there are four little spring loaded clips you have to push back, very gently and the keyboard just pops out.
Killer_Bot Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I'm assuming you've already done it now but as rad said, if it's the top one there are about 4 nodges above the function keys. I tend to push the keys down and use a flat head screwdriver to pop them in. The keyboard then pops up and you just need to disconnect the ribbon. Just done shove them in too hard else they don't come back out!
