What is this folder on desktop and how do i get rid?

When a user logs on to a windows 7 machine in my domain they get an icon top left corner of the dektop with their full name from active directory.

It seems to point to c:\users\temp. It has links to the users local my pictures etc. which I really don't want.

 

How can I disable this?

If its a hold back from old policies then the solution is to use seporate GPOs for XP and 7 filtered by the OS using WMI filters. This prevents nasty leakage of customization designed for one OS messing with the other.

I'm not sure if MS has "patched" its yet, but its due to XP placing the desktop.inf (correct name?) files in the folders, I remember someone mentioning success by create blank files by those names in the folders and removing rights so no one could edit them.

It's just the Users library. I suspect yours points to temp because you used the profile copy enabler to make the default profile?

nope windows enabler dosent seem to cause that as ive not seen it BUT i have got the c:\users\public folder set o deny access to staff\pupils i cant seem to remove it as a library location so ive just stopped people saving to it
