witch Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I need to stop the little darlings moving the desktop icons around (usually into their own initials). They cannot add or remove icons, so the desktop is locked down in that respect, but I would like them fixed as well. We currently run Server 2008 but we are upgrading to 2008R2 next week. I have searched everywhere but cannot find a solution - can anyone point me in the right direction?

witch Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Desktop is redirected - well, the whole user file 'student' in which the desktop resides is. And read only is ticked. But they can still move them about

Yes, ahead of you there - just removed all icons except Internet Explorer and the recycle bin. Let them make their initials out of that!! The problem is that the teachers like the often-used programs,such as word, to have a desktop icon as the time it takes a child to go to start, programs, then choose the folder, then click on the program is unbelievable!
