Force delete off user area

I'm having difficulty deleting a music file, which says I don't have permissions to delete or its in use. I know its not in use as its an ex student. The folder its in as administrator full permissions, but I can't change the security on the .wav file itself.

 

I have tried a force delete via command prompt, but still says access denied. Any other suggestions? I've even tried logging in as the user who created it, but still no joy.

Have you tried going into the advanced security area and trying to take ownership of the file. This should allow you to reset the permissions and then delete it.

You don't have the option on the file its self which doesn't make sense. I checked the folder and all was as it should be...

The file itself is broken, I have a couple of these (though they're 0kB in size). Annoying, but I've just deleted everything else in the folder and left them be. Would be interesting to see if there is a way to clear these, other than formatting the volume they're on (!)

Its definately not 0kb. Its more like 60mb!

Have you tried unlocker UNLOCKER 1.9.0 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB ?

 

or using the takeown command Takeown ?

Try deleting the file using its 8.3 filename, to find the 8.3 filename use dir /x.

Takeown/Unlocker/Dir didn't work.

Sounds like the security descripters are corrupt, run a scandisk on the volume where it is stored and it should find the error and correct it so that you are able to take ownership of it and nerf it.
