deccy Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Hi, We are moving our network over to Windows 7 and just testing which machines will and will not run it. We have some old acer travel mate 4220's which will install it and run windows 7 and allow login via the network however, when logging off and logging in as someone else it hangs for about 5 mins and shuts down. On restart it does not gove the login screen and once again hangs and shuts down . Any ideas as to why?? Thanks Guys and Girls!!
SYNACK Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Have you checked to see if there is anything enlightening in the event log of the affected computers? 1
deccy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Thats the problem. We cant login after restart as it just shuts down before you get chance to login. We have been able to narrow it down to the Reeltek control panel but as for why this is effecting it so badly we are not sure!
3s-gtech Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Restart in Safe Mode with Networking and check the logs. 1
deccy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Haha lol. Just worked out why it was stalling and shutting down. AFter checking the event logs we have found that we left it in the AD group which has lots of MSI's for deployment on build and was hanging as windows 7 does not like our MSI's and so it was restarting after each one had failed. Thanks for all your help guys!
