Unaffected - RM here i come :)

It could be a whole lot worse - it could be Northgate instead of RM.

In Leicester one school was down for a week because a server broke and it took 4 days for them to restore the data.

I wonder if we will see a 'new' initiative from the Govt.... "Building Academies for the Future" in a few months time?

The amount of money committed to BSF per year is quite modest compared to the overall national debt and it would only be natural that any new Govt would want to promote its flagship policies rather than be seen to sustain the previous administrations flagship policy..... cue Free schools and expansion of Academy programme.......

Maybe the Govt thinking is those schools who were due for rebuild will now be encouraged to apply to become academies?

They are going to be under pressure to maintain capital spending to support the building industry & suppliers, so they might as well spend money on their 'pet' projects as NewLabours? They will also be under pressure from their MPs & supporters who will have to face the public & explain why their children cannot have a new school...

I think the problem that the govt currently has is that first they have to remove the 25% of public spending that is 'borrowed', and then look at savings to start repaying the deficit. Once these have been worked out then plans can be laid out for future spending. In all honesty, I cant see any govt letting schools rot completely. The political damage would be far to much, however I would not be at all surprised if a large scale maintenance and renovation program being initiated at a fraction of the cost of a BSF school.

My main hope is what ever they do decide to bring in instead of BSF doesnt require approximately 15% of the budget just to plan it!!

Now that is a complete was of public money
