Office 2003 Vol Lic

Hi guys

 

One of my teachers has asked if it would be possible to borrow our office 2003 pro volume license to install at home as they have a lot of reports and such to write.

 

Is this possible because they are using it for home or should it stay well and truely within school grounds?

Unless your licence stipulates teachers can use it at home, no you can't.

If you have a school agreement, they do have use at home rights - BUT it's a condition IIRIC that the media must be original. (though quite how anyone would know....)

Technicly the Volume Licensing Agreement you are under probably (Schools Agreement) does have home use rights for staff to use the product at home on one computer for only school work. Compliance of this and the removal of software/safety of the key are the schools responcibility though so this is inpractical.

 

I would not let the media out of the school especially unsupervised and as the school is heald liable for the teachers actions along with removal of the software if the teacher leave this is a very matinence heavy option that I would not recommend.

 

What you want to do is set the school up to participate in the Microsoft Home Use Program - Only £8.95 for Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. The software suite includes Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access and more! which allows them to get a copy of Office 2010 for home use for only 9 pounds.

 

This copy can be used for personal stuff to and as the agreement is with Microsoft the liability stays with them and the teacher. This also keeps you activation keys safe.
