Heinemann Geography/Goal Plugin UNC Path Problems

Hi guys,

 

We have the new GOAL Plugin to send out via managed software as an assigned package but it deploys and installs when it's run by the user for the first time. The problem is it can only be deployed by UNC and we disallow all UNC's for students.

I now have a mental block and can't think of any other ways for deployment so any help would be appreciated.

You can dissalow UNCs in explorer but that shouldnt affect a software deployment. I assume you are assigning it to the machines and not users?

Heinemann say it can only be deployed via machine and yes we are doing as they say.

Student restrictions stop all UNCs etc via the removal of the run command and windows installer is set to use elevated security when installing.

The instalation is called via internet explorer however but I fail to see this being an issue.

Students have read permission on the packages directory also.

 

There has to be something were missing here!

It was the ActiveX security for students which started the instalation from within IE.
