plexer Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Free server documentation tool. http://aj.600z.com/aj/19572/0/cc?z=1&b=19570&c=19571 If anyone is able to download it can point me to a copy somewhere that would be cool as the site is blocked by our lea filter here. Ben
Ravening_Wolf Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Downloading now, but it won't be finished before I go home. Any idea which file hosting sites are available to you?
plexer Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 Hi RW, Sorry to take so long to get back to you. How big is the download? Anywhere we can stick on edugeek admins? Ben
contink Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Looks to be 52Mb in size... Mirror sites include: http://www.downloadsofts.com/download/Servers/Other-Server-Applications/Ecora-Auditor-Lite-for-Windows-download-details.html http://www.freewarebox.com/linkin_6238_ecora-auditor-lite-for-windows_3.html ... The product is called "Ecora Auditor Lite" btw... so that should help with locating it.
acb_ Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I've grabbed this, and I must say it's done the job nicely. I now have huge reports on all my servers for future reference should things go askew. It's really nice to have a list of all shares & their permissions, also scheduled tasks, as well as hardware and loads of other gubbins. I'm just debating whether to print it out as a hard copy might be useful in extreme disaster situations...
plexer Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 I think burning to cd/dvd would probably be enough wouldn't it? at least you can then read it from a laptop etc... and print it off if you need to or just parts of it as needed. Ben
netadmin Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Thanks for posting the link. That program is very helpful. The school administrators loved me printing off 210 pages of reports, but it will be a wonderful guide to have in case the server starts acting weird or gets a virus.
phil_thebeans Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Thanks another great management tool should be very helpful if disaster strikes, cheers plexer
