krisd32 Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Does anybody use this ? if they do how do you get it to set a default printer when you are using more than 1 printer per ou. can't find a thing! Thanks Kris
john Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 I don't see anything in the book about it, will be a Server 2007 feature I guess.
Norphy Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 That was one of the reasons I gave up with it and reverted to using a VBS script :|
krisd32 Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 got a quick fix till something better comes out! i wanted to set the mono laser printer as default for each room. so i simply put an x in front of the colour printer share name. and as it seemed to map the default printer alphabetically it worked from then on. thanks for the help any way. Cheers Kris
ghowe79 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I use the con2prt app and different logon scripts (in the "user configuration" section for the computers!) for different classrooms to assign printers here. Although for it to work, User Group Policy loopback processing mode must be enabled in Active Directory (Computer Config/Admin Templates/System/Group Policy)
kingswood Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I use the R2 Print Management Console and wondered how we would assign two printers myself. I think it's probably something I need to look into. Someone is bound to ask...
