ascott2 Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Best app on the Market, Net Tools ( with a space). Am slightly biased though, it's mine and its almost at the 5000 download mark now. Also have a couple of other apps on the market but were more my introduction to Android. Although one of which has earned me £6.02 woop!!!
alan-d Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Quick side note: Anyone looking for a car charger for the HTC Desire have a look here FoneM8 - Car Charger For HTC Desire, Google Nexus One: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo £0.01 and postage?
alan-d Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Nice one I was only looking to see how much a spare data cable would cost me
mikeglover Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Don't know if it has been discussed here already but I discovered a very handy app called JuceDefender which aims to improve battery life. It's improve mine by about x 2.00 Another one is Transdroid for all you BitTorrenters out there. 1
SimpleSi Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I like that you either order one for 0.01p and pay 1.95 p and p or order one for 1.96 with no p and p Simon
Haptic Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Helluva long thread this one....not sure if someones mentioned it....... The best Android app yet is 'Scanner Radio' nothing better than listening to LAPD arresting some hoodlums at any time of day. Sadly not many UK scanners feature yet....stay tuned though. Cracking phone, absolutely blows the Xperia out of the water...now it's just those pesky Apples to deal with!
featured_spectre Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Another good one... mSpot for android. Cracking App. Syncs my entire itunes library, and plays on my phone / PC at work etc. Far superior to spotify as I dont have to pay for it to use it on my mobile! The free account gives me 2GB of music to use! which is plenty for me! Edited July 8, 2010 by featured_spectre 1
gtg93 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 @teejay Any chance of a copy of beebplayer as author has withdrawn it pending imminent abilty for droid devices to work natively (but who wants to wait?) regards Simon Try myPlayer if beebplayer isn't available anymore. Personally I prefer it anyway. Seems to be more stable and the Radio streaming acutally works 2
SimpleSi Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Try myPlayer Yes - already got it - forgot to post back here - much better than beebplayer Simon
featured_spectre Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Droidfit for anyone keeping fit. It's a good app, free and has helped me keep track of my training regime
JJonas Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) DailyStrip (dilbert etc - xkcd doesn't work on it though!) How about XkcdViewer - Android app on AppBrain also Ive seen this bandwidth monitoring app mentioned by several people http://www.appbrain.com/app/net.rgruet.android.g3watchdog Edited July 27, 2010 by JJonas
JJonas Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Not an app but pretty cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Bq6wp7Sgak&feature=player_embedded
creese Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I don't think its been mentioned but I have just discovered Shelves. Cataglogue your music collection, gadgets, DVDs, software and more. You are able to search or scan by barcode. Also AppBrain, better than Market as you can read about the Apps, get recommendations by gender, age etc. mark for doenload and install then synch your phone to install. 1
JJonas Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Quick side note: Anyone looking for a car charger for the HTC Desire have a look here FoneM8 - Car Charger For HTC Desire, Google Nexus One: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo £0.01 and postage? anybody tried this does it work while using the satnav? some of these cheap car chargers will only deliver 500mA and that is not enough to charge the battery with the satnav working.
creese Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Fatsecret, for those of us who need to eat less . You can register online and scan barcodes and synch calories, weigh ins and exercise. All free.
JJonas Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 SDWatch - Android app on AppBrain Just brilliant. Notification if an app can be moved to the SD card as soon as its installed.
SkywOrca Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 anybody tried this does it work while using the satnav? some of these cheap car chargers will only deliver 500mA and that is not enough to charge the battery with the satnav working. Been using this car charger for most of last week while on holiday and it seemed to keep the battery fully charged even while the GPS was running. The only time my battery struggled was when I kept forgetting to quit maps before unplugging it while out and about, but that was just me being a dope! I can't comment on the exact power output right now, but it does have a little sticker on the side which should show this, I'll have to try and remember to look this evening. The only possible downside is that it doesn't appear to put itself into a powersave mode while the phone isn't connected, so you can't just leave it plugged into the lighter overnight. TBH though, I don't know if any of the more expensive car chargers offer this type of feature, so might not be an issue after all.
Dos_Box Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 SDWatch - Android app on AppBrain Just brilliant. Notification if an app can be moved to the SD card as soon as its installed. SDMove, by the same guy is better. It actually scans your phone for apps that can be moved and moves them for you. Only works with 2.2 though.
