You know Tim, I have just completed a re-install of SBS2008 and this is a problem i was having i found the same solution as yourself and just thought i'd add that it also solved the problem for myself. :)

Must admit, it took some finding. Some people said use a vista box and share the windows folder, well i thought i could just get the ntprint.ini files,,, how wrong was i. They don't half make it hard.

i think i understand that. And when promted for driver, point at x86 .

 

what about if we are using con2port or ad to deploy printers. Dont want users having to look for drivers.

I dont think XP allows you to map printers through GPO where as 7 does. We have a script that does it for us and works with out any problems (on both 7 and XP). As long as you have got the x86 driver on the server nothing else should be effected.

as long as you run pushprinterconnections it does
