scumboss Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Hi All We are looking into thin client solutions and would appreciate it if we could visit a site who are using them. Is there anyone who wouldn't mind showing us their setup and answering a few questions. It would be a great help.
VirtueTechnologies Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 There is an install that I know of about 80 10ZiG Devices in Cardiff that is using XPe device And more at the National Library of Wales who have a LTSP solution running on 10ZiG Devices And there is another that I cannot recall where it is, but they are using AS400 connectivity Each of these is using them for different applications, so depending on your requirements would depend on the site that I would recommend. Thanks
scumboss Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 I was thinking of a college or school who are using thin clients for your typical office apps, web browsing, etc. Pushing out XP, Vista or Windows 7.
VirtueTechnologies Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I know a College in South Wales who is currently in a POC phase using vWorkspace and Thin Clients.
linescanner Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 We have a school in Bath running 20 Sun Ray as a POC at the moment. Well worth a visit

There are loads of happy thin client users giving their experiences in the thread below http://www.edugeek.net/forums/thin-client-virtual-machines/22082-axel-ax3000-m70-lesson-monitor-2.html The most recent one is based in Wales - he is very active on Edugeek, I am sure he would be happy to share his experiences with you, if you want to PM me I will happily arrange a email introduction...

scumboss Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Hi All Linescanner would it be possible to have a contact for that school? Joe also could I give you a ring regarding a visit?
localzuk Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 We've running about 50 or so thin clients here, with citrix. Using a mix of Samsung, HP and converted old desktop machines. Both in admin setitng and for pupil use.
linescanner Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Yep no worries. Give me a bit and I will try to arrange it.
