gill Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Does anyone have scripts to block access to spellcheck, calculator, grammar check during controlled assessments? Thanks
penfold Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Could you not just restrict the programs users can run, and then get them to do the assessment in something like Wordpad? I've used this method with some old stand alone laptops which stuggle on the network, but can be used as a standalone machine for exams fine. 1
ricki Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) HI You could create path rules to the msspell3.dll for the spell check, calc.exe for the calculator and apply the settings to the user. I think you can stop the grammer through the office adm. I think the Msgren32.dll is the file for the grammar check. I have created exam users that are used for tests and so all the extra restrictions dont affect other people. Richard Edited May 11, 2010 by ricki 1
alan-d Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Does anyone have scripts to block access to spellcheck, calculator, grammar check during controlled assessments? Thanks We use locked down GPOs to disable features or allow only certain products to run. E.G. Wordpad instead of MS Office. There is another thread covering common assessments somewhere. 1
sonofsanta Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 +1 for just using Wordpad; similar enough interface to Word to not confuse anyone whilst completely lacking in all the cheating features like spell check. Remember: KISS. 1
