gpt.ini permissions problem

getting this error on one DC have ( we have 2 DC) and the permissions are the same but error is only showing up on one event log

 

 

not sure were to look next

 

 

Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=ll****l,DC=****t,DC=n***,DC=sch,DC=uk. The file must be present at the location <\\****.uk\sysvol\local*****\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>. (Access is denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

From memory this relates to the Default Domain Policy, we've had this problem on a couple of occassions over the years.

 

I think we simply created a new blank gpt.ini within the relevant location containing the default values.

 

A simple Google search will get all the information you require.

Download the DFSutil and then run dfsutil.exe /PurgeMupCache
