training_needed Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Hi All Been asked to take spell check off word 2003 for the year 6 sats coming up is this pos? Cheers
elsiegee40 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Might be easier to deny access to Microsoft Office on a special login and give the child Notepad as a document editor. It is, after all, about content not layout.
leco Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 It is possible to turn spell checking off in Word 2003 - Tools/Options - Spelling and Grammar tab. But I guess you knew that, so it depends on how you have it set up for pupils. Do you have mandatory profiles, GPO settings etc? As stated might be easier, and quicker to set up a new user.

sted Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 if you download the ork i believe there is office gpos in it that allow you to turn off the spellcheck there definitely is with 2007
User3204 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Wordpad doesn't have a spellchecker, and comes with Windows.. Which is what we use when we need to have a machine setup for an exam for the "Broken arm brigade".
muppet Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Another one here for using Wordpad. We use it because of the lack of spellchecker but also because you can insert images / screen grabs and you can use bold - underline - italics etc.
training_needed Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Think word pad is the way to go. Thanks for all the replys
