paul Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Am having a few problems with my exchange box, when you come to create a new exchange account (creating a mailbox) the wizard runs through fine but does not apply any of the email address settings to the account nor is it adding the user to the global address list as it should. Any one experienced this before? I have tried repairing the exchange installation and trawling M$ KB articles to no avail.
bazM Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I had the same problem after I installed the exchange Admin tools on 2 other servers. I rebooted the exchange and it worked again. Think its something to do with the RUS... I've not looked into it any futher yet.....
Lord_Edam Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Email addresses don't get added immediately, and if you're running Outlook 2003 the "global address list" is actually an "offline address list" that is typically only updated every 24 hours. Wait a day and see if it's fixed itself, or :to get the email addresses added, get the user to log on to the mailbox once (either in outlook or OWA) :to get them on the Global Address List (if outlook 2003), rebuild the offline address list. There's things you can reschedule in ESM to get both of those running more often, but I rarely see the point in changing the defaults. If people need email addresses urgently they should ask for them sooner If nothing's showing up after 24 hours, your Recipient update service or recipient policies are broken.
