zag Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Capita have finally seen sense and are posting the Sims ISO image publicly. http://dl.capitasolus.co.uk/cdimage/sims2010sprmainupg.zip This should be the latest Spring re-release. Now we don't have to ring up the nice lady at capita any more and wait 4 days for her to send the CD through the post! 1
vikpaw Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 It's not supposed to be public, at least it should have been password protected, not that i've ever seen it happen, there's usually a link flying around at some point. Anyway see the word here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/53354-sims-spring-2010-release.html#post489523 I figure since the first release was open and public they are keeping the same for the rerelease to make it quick and easy for anyone to get the latest version, but i wouldn't hold my breath for the next one to be so easily available. I don't mind if it's password protected, but it would be nice if they just let you know where it was without having to hunt around for it.
Sarconia Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Sounds like it might be bit of a case where the right hand doesn't quite know what the left hand is doing? Personally though, I usually try and upgrade most schools by using SOLUS, if that doesn't work then I'll probably copy the Setups folder across.
zag Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 Its more useful if your entire system fails or you need to create a backup sims server
vikpaw Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I just use it for testing as it's quick and easy to have an iso that i can attach to various virtual machines. the main 'live' sims upgrade is done with SOLUS.
