it's quiet today - no planes

On this note - only slightly off topic - does anyone live near the air field in Brigg? I have a friend who is meant to be taking a parachute jump today but I don't know if the 'planes are flying or not. They won't be flying high enough to be in the ash cloud will they?

Well... A light plane came down near here yesterday killing two occupants. It isn't yet know if ash was a factor.

I've seen a few light planes over the few days, and the air ambulance once.

 

I'm a few miles from, and off the flightpath to Southampton airport so they're never that bad, but it is nice to have none around at all!

You mean Hibaldstow, I am around 20 minutes from there.

 

I am also 5 minutes from Humberside Airport, to be honest I haven't noticed it been any quieter, you kind of get used to it. Haven't noticed as many helicopters going out to the rigs but yesterday when I did pass I noticed a few small planes looking to take off from Humberside, also as I write this post I am sure I've just heard a small plane go over.

Yeah, the air ambulance has been over my house at least 4 times today.

All is good - 'planes restricted to flying at 1,500 feet rather than the usual 2,000. Jump took place and a good time was had by all. Phew now I can breath:)

It's great, until of course we want fresh fruit and the supermarkets start bumping prices up due to it taking ages to get any goods into the country and them running out.
