League of Legends (DOTA / Warcraft 3 Standalone Game)

One of my friends on Steam was palying this the other day and i had to take a look.

 

Turns out its developed by the same poeple that made the original DoTA map on Warcraft 3.

If your friend was playing it he is playing it on EU servers. League of Legends for the EU version which I use myself. I have a US one as well too though but because I bought it off steam the codes only work on the EU version.

 

As for the game it rocks

There is a more direct copy of DotA called heroes of newerth which is pretty much a enhanced DoTa unlike LOL which is quite unique in chars.

I summon thee from the grave....to say I am getting sucked into this game too! Was glued to it yesterday and started venturing into PvP matches. Didn't do too bad in my first few but matchup rating is catching up with me.

A game where 'Unskilled' isn't a legitimate reason to report someone? A game where you don't have to pseudo-purchase heroes? A game that has better mechanic balancing, such as wards having limited stock?

 

Haven't played LoL in a while, admittedly, so these things might have changed, but 'Unskilled Player' reporting is the largest gripe I have with it. It seriously punishes people for being new, and let's face it, MOBA's have a rather steep learning curve.

I really prefer DoTA. Haven't ever played HoN, so no comment there.

 

Oh! and how about a community that isn't vile, rude and full of CYKA BLYAT - oh, wait, sorry, DoTA has that one, too.

I was a bit shocked seeing Unskilled on the report thing but apparently it isn't a bannable offence and just works like dropping negative rep on XBox Live in that it makes you avoid the player in matchups.
