leon032 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I have a quick question that I have been trying to get answered. I have searched through the net but have seen different answers. I was told by a coworker that when a MS Office License purchased, the same registration number can be used in up to 3 computers. Meaning that with the purchase of one license three computers can us MS Office. Is this correct? On a side note, i have been purchasing licenses for my company every other month. Is there discounts for this or only if bought once in a bundle? Please let me know so I can save face or have a valid answer for my coworker. Thanks
tmcd35 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 AFAIK - only the Student and Home version of Office has a three install license. All other versions are 1 PC only. Which licenses are you buying? How meny PC's do you have that need Office? If your company needs more than 5 copies then you may want to look at either Open or Select license agreements which are (alot) cheaper then buying Office off the shelf.
leon032 Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Thanks tmcd35 for your reply. I have been purchasing Microsoft Office 2007 Standard because Outlook is a requirement. I usually get informed of a new hire or the requirement of a new pc about every other month. Not a usual flow, but its been happening lately. I have to look at the Open or Select Licenses because it might be better off to have some in reserve.
