tech_guy Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Just heard that Guy Kewney passed away. He was one of the better IT journos. He knew his stuff. RIP Guy. RIP Guy Kewney - The Frontline
tmcd35 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 No way! That is sad news indeed - RIP. Guy was one of my favourite IT columnists back in the day. Is articles were always very well written and informative. I used to look forward to reading them.
powdarrmonkey Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 This sucks I didn't even realise he was ill, since he was still writing up to a few weeks ago. His journalism was uncommonly accurate, insightful and - most importantly - knowledgeable, and I can't think of anyone immediately who can take his place. It's a sad day indeed.
ajbritton Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I also remember his time at PCW when I was an avid reader. A sad loss. Goodbye Guy.
tech_guy Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 We've lost a few IT journos/writers of note over the last few years; MacBiter (Tony Tyler) and now Guy. Really used to enjoy reading their columns.
teejay Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Sad news, was one of the first columns I would read back in the days of my PCW magazine subscription in the 80's.
SC-UK Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 A sad loss as he certainly knew his stuff. Also he was the cause of the taxi driver or similar being interviewed live on BBC news about a Beatles vs Apple case when mistaken for Kewney.
