Is there a facility in Hyper-V to do P2V conversions?

System Center Virtual Machine Manager will do it for you, or you can do it semi-manually by creating a VHD from the physical HD using the free Disk2vhd and attaching that to a virtual machine yourself. I've used method #2 myself and it worked just fine. Edited April 7, 2010 by AngryTechnician

I've been doing some this week using SCVMM and it works ok.

 

There are a few minor niggles, if you have team network cards its best to undo those and remove any hardware monitoring software.
