chall Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Hi all. We are currently using a web based system (RM easymail+) for student emails. However when the student logs in, they are logged straight out with the message "session has expired". Obviously i assumed this was an issue to take up with RM, however on certain machines it seems to log in fine. The same issue occurs if they try and log into say..a phpbb forum. They can log in, however when the page refreshes they are logged straight out. Does anyone have an idea on what this issue could be. Some GPO option perhaps? However if it was a GPO, it would do it on all machines rather than on certain ones. It happens in both IE7 and IE6, but not in firefox. Strange huh. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. chall
bossman Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Have you tried cleaning their user profile and deleting their profile off the workstation that they are on. Obviously after loggin them out first.
chall Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 Not quite sure what you mean by cleaning the user profile. I clear all local user profiles on a regular basis and it seems to make no difference unfortunately.
webman Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Assuming you have an RM network: using the RM Management Console, find the affected users, right-click on them, and select Reset Profile.

mac_shinobi Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 firefox doesnt have decent adm templates afaik and also firefox is set to accept cookies from sites by default as far as im aware. Where as IE has the privacy options to medium by default which may be blocking the cookies that you require, also it may be a security setting in IE that could also be stopping it from working correctly. Ive never touched adm templates for IE or any of that but there must be something like that which would allow you to alter the relevant settings so that all the clients get the settings in order to allow the app or w/e it is you are trying to get to work, to work. Just a thought ....
