We use Sign In App, very happy with it.

This is an issue for us as well, we are hoping that Edulink adds this as a new feature.

I've just tried to register for this service, as we use a .co.uk domain it's saying i can only register with a public sector email address. I raised a ticket and got the following reply from support. We’re currently reviewing how public sector services use Notify. The review could lead to changes in who can use Notify in the future. We’ll be able to consider your request to go live in January 2023. Until then, you can continue to use Notify in trial mode. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause. I can't even get into trial mode!!

Sorry guys, I've just figured it out. It was a restriction added to the device. Thanks everyone. -
Mosyle - Apps not appearing on homescreen
chall replied to chall's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Yes i have a blocked apps list set. I've blocked the majority of the system apps, but i've never bothered setting an allow list as i've never needed to because the VPP apps install on the other iPads without it. I've tried setting up an allow list with the apps that i want, however that hasn't made any difference. -
Hi, I'm starting to pull my hair out with this, i'm wondering if anyone can help. I'm currently using the "free" version of Mosyle which does everything i need to do, however i'm not allowed to raise any support tickets without me upgrading to premium, hence me posting here. I've got a load of iPads on there which have been put into shared trolleys with various restrictions on there, no issues whatsoever Generally, i disallow most of the system stuff/apps as i only want students accessing apps that I've installed via VPP. I've added some old iPad Airs to our MDM and currently trying to set them up as a shared trolley, however with these iPads, as soon as i add them to the shared trolley, all the apps disappear from the homescreen apart from the system app, however i can see by the MDM and iPad system settings that the apps are installed. If i remove the device from the shared trolley and add it back to limbo, all the apps show up but then there's no other restrictions on the device. I'm assuming that it's a restriction that's causing the apps not to appear, but I've got restrictions on my other shared trolleys and the apps show up on them. Many thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm trying to run this tool, however i'm getting a 'Could not load file or assembly LoginProcesses" error and then a long string. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Hi all, We've been trialling edulink and I'm impressed with it, however I've also been asked to look into synergy & classcharts. Looking at them all, it appears that edulink has more features and seems to have the best support & is in active development, but does anyone have any other advice/feedback? Thanks in advance!

Hm, why don't we just all work for free? We get paid crap money as it is, let alone spending our evening documenting a network.

No RM network. Servers are windows 2003 and clients are all XP SP2.

Not quite sure what you mean by cleaning the user profile. I clear all local user profiles on a regular basis and it seems to make no difference unfortunately.

Hi all. We are currently using a web based system (RM easymail+) for student emails. However when the student logs in, they are logged straight out with the message "session has expired". Obviously i assumed this was an issue to take up with RM, however on certain machines it seems to log in fine. The same issue occurs if they try and log into say..a phpbb forum. They can log in, however when the page refreshes they are logged straight out. Does anyone have an idea on what this issue could be. Some GPO option perhaps? However if it was a GPO, it would do it on all machines rather than on certain ones. It happens in both IE7 and IE6, but not in firefox. Strange huh. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. chall

Thanks ChrisH. Good name by the way!! *edit* It works perfectly. No tabbed browsing though which is pretty wierd.

Hi all. I have just rolled out IE7 in one of our ICT suites. Just one thing that's bugging me, whenever a different student logs in, they have to set their personal settings each time. Is there anyway to default IE7's personal settings for everyone who logs on the machine? cheers

Thanks for all your swift replies. Ideally i'm just after something that will sit in the corner of the room, not require any windows or hole drilling, and will cool the temperature down "on its own" so to speak. Air con seems the best way to go, but our office is simply nowhere near anywhere outside. For example, on B&Q's site, they have "Airforce Easy Fit Discreet Climate Control" which seems to be the most expensive unit. However: # A discreet speaker style unit # Requires one 3.5 inch hole through the wall and sufficient space for the outdoor unit It requires an outdoor unit. Would i be best following IndieGirl's advice of getting professional air con fitters in rather than going for something from somewhere like B&Q?

Hi folks. Congratulations for such a quality site. This is my first post here, and i want the advice of all the people like me that have to sit in a boiling hot cupboard (server room) all day. Basically, myself and our network manager work in our school's server room, it has no windows, and is always boiling hot. Finally it seems that our SMT have realised that it's not very wise keeping all of our servers at this temperature (plus the fact i have been bugging them for 6 months) So they have given the OK to get a room cooler. My question is, does anyone here use one in their school? I know there are plenty out there to purchase, but i always assumed that you need a window for the air to escape. But because our server room has no windows, that is not possible. Can you get coolers that will cool down a room to a specific temperature, but does not need a window? Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. chall Technician, RRS.
