apearce Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Just wanted to let this community know that I have put together a whitepaper on how to install Moodle on Windows Server 2008 x86, SQL Server 2008 and IIS. Hope you find it useful. Installing Moodle on Windows x86 - Learning Gateway User Group Alex 3
webman Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Thanks Alex, useful guide. But it's still not as simple as sudo apt-get install moodle on Linux
apearce Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 I know but still - can manage it better on Windows ;-)
danbuntu Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 You should check out the web platform installer: http://www.microsoft.com/web/Downloads/platform.aspx It makes iis with php much easier to install, it will even install moodle for you. granted it's not as easy as apt-get install moodle but it's worryingly close 1
stariq Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Just thinking of doing this for our primary school - many thanks for the guide

gaz003 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Did you go down the root of using the platform installer???? I have used this before as a test and found it to be quite good for taken the hassle of the install away and quickly installing moodle. How is it later on for fault finding issues if you have any? and would you recomend using this again? or would you use a different approach to the install? Any advice is greatly apperciated as I am shortly setting up a moodle platform.
