If you enter a date range it just restores everything. what if they deleted 20 files and just wanted to recover 1??

How would I get this to work with all the students and staff without installing locally on each pc? so currently all our data is local - mapped drives from the server through group policy. If we move the data to the cloud I still would like to map drives for students. Has anyone done this and can advise?

is there a way of mapping shared drives within google drive as a windows drive for users when they log on to the network (same way they see the server shares stored locally)

We are currently in the process of testing google Drive (before rolling out to schools) If a user has deleted from my drive / shared drive - Is there a easy way to restore the data. If the files/folders are deleted from trash again is there an easy way to restore the data? We are a little worried we move from local storage to cloud and then are unable to recover files deleted any help and advice is greatly appreciated

Thank you enabling the "Prevent device metadata retrieval from the Internet" has resolved the issue

I have found that in the new image of windows 10 LTSC 2019 when a student logs on it automatically pops up in the corner about the HP smart app. Students can click on this and start adding printers found on the network. Is there a way to stop this app from running? or is there a way to block the app through group policy? Hopefully someone might have come across this themselves

You could also look at setting up a VM server to replicate the virtual servers (good for backup and disaster recovery)

I have just created a new image using LTSC 2019 which i plan to roll out in the summer holidays Logged on as a student if they search in the start menu - on the right hand side it shows run as administrator and uninstall How do i remove this for the students?????? is there a way to do this? or a work around? see picture for more info GP3 if you can help that would be brilliant as I have being searching for days to stop this

I have setup a new copy of Home Access Plus V10.0 on a 2016 server. All tested and working great. The only issue I have is if a student puts the wrong username or password in they get a error below rather than a incorrect username and password try again. Has anyone else had this issue in windows 10?? Some of the applications we use at school (facility for example) looks much brighter in colour than windows 7 ie see the picture the menus look white compared to on windows 7 I have messed around with themes and brightness but cannot seem to get it to look like windows 7 I can imagine some users not liking this any advice is greatly appreciated as I am now close to rolling this out to the office staff

Can anyone help, I am having the same issue? I have added the group policy setting to block access to the store for the students, but even though we have windows 10 education installed students can browse the store. I have tried the applocker program but again it doesn't seem to work? I have checked event viewer but cannot see any group policy errors. I am so close now but this is the last setting I just cannot get my head around. If anyone can help at all it would greatly be appreciated

I have managed to lock down the windows start menu searches with the user of cortana and the internet But I have one last niggly issue.... If I log on as a student click the windows start menu icon - start typing windows searches the local computer and displays a long list of results. Although I have pretty much locked all the apps down it is still frustrating they are able to do this. Has anyone managed to find a work around group policy for this issue?

Can anyone help? I have pretty much locked down windows 10 for students yay! I have created a start.xml file and tested as a test student account. The office / Internet explorer icons all work great I am now trying to get it so that it also shows Tiles for the users documents, videos, photos but I seem to be struggling to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? all the folders are located in the users H:\ drive rather than through roaming profiles as we now use local profiles.

I am having a slight issue, I have tried disabled cortana (it no longer searches on the web) however when you click on cortana it still loads and allows you to search the local computer for example if a student types "network" it loads lots of network information , they can click on creating a vpn etc How do I stop the search indefinitely??

I am trying to setup Windows 10 for a possible summer roll out. I have managed to lock down quite a lot of new settings but I am having problems with the following: I want to stop students accessing the windows administration tools menu they can load services, defrag application (although not do anything) along with the other admin tools apps Can I stop them loading this full stop?, any help is massively appreciated. I am hoping to upgrade to windows 10 for the summer holidays but this is probably too ambitious. Most of my existing windows7 policies work but I am now franticly working through registry settings after setting I have noticed: need to remove change account settings so they cannot play with them remove the one drive icon remove access to command prompt - I disabled run command but teachers can still run it? remove unc path searching remove the app store icon remove windows defender icon remove and disable access to windows administrative tools is there a way to stop students from fast user switching but allow teachers to fast user switch? I just wondered how everyone else was getting on with windows 10 and if you have managed to create a policy that was fully working? any help and advice is greatly appreciated
