Ive been looking at deploying Win 7 Pro with WDS...

I can deploy the standard win7pro image.win with a unattend.xml (located on the WDS server)

Everything works perfectly, all OOBE settings are suppressed and PC joins domain, activates, sets local admin pass etc etc......

So.. next step, reinstall with a fresh image, install office 2007, all apps etc. Then sysprep it and then capture to customimage.wim

Now when I deploy this new customimage.wim it doesnt seem to apply the answerfile (win7.xml) any more after install?

After the install i have to run through all the OOBE settings, select the lauguage, setup a local user etc etc...

Does anyone please know if theres a step im missing to get my customimage.wim to auto-join domain etc just as the standard image.wim does?

I HAVE remebered to select "Allow image to install in Unattended mode" in WDS and choosen same xml file (win7.xml) as with the stardard image.wim

Thanks for Looking

Thanks for the reply mate,

No errors.

I have followed a different guide using this step when creating the image:

Step #13

Once you have everything configured correctly, Copy or move your sysprep.xml file to : C:\windows\system32\sysprep. Now to run sysprep, navigate to that sysprep folder, hold SHIFT and right click and select “Open New Command Windows Here”. Next, input the following commands:

sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:sysprep.xml

This seems to work, but surely just the xml that i tell WDS to use should be enough?

Bit confused.
