Hw much is this PC worth?

Nothing toi do with school, hence why its in here. My dad bought this Dell last year before deciding he wanted a Mac, leaving me with the job of selling it

Want to get as much as possible back for it

 

Specs are:

 

Dell Studio Slim 540S

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66Ghz 6Mb Cache

5GB RAM (one 1GB stick was faulty, Dell replaced with a 2GB stick hence the odd number)

ATI Radeon HD 3450 Graphics card

750GB Hard disk

16x DVDRW

22" Widescreen Dell monitor

Wireless mouse/keyboard

Windows Vista Home Premium (bet this puts the valiue down a bit )

 

Not sure how much he originally paid, probably over a grand. How much would it be worth roughly second hand? (ebay or otherwise)

Or how much would you pay for it if someone offered it to you? I've got a figure in mind but I'll see what others think first.

 

Just to make it clear, not trying to sell on here, just find out value

Being that it is being posted on a forum of people who could more than likely build it themselves, I think you are in danger of being offended!

I will be honest and say to me the most valuable commodities are the TFT and Graphics Card. To buy the lot second hand I probably wouldn't be interested in much over £400. On eBay you never know...

lol...doesnt matter to me really as its not mine. Its my dads own fault for changing his mind so much, I did warn him he wont get anywhere near what he paid for it

Aside from the monitor I could buy all components at roughly £450 all told (including a motherboard that would take the above).

 

As it's all as one, he could probably scrape £500 out of it if he is lucky, but there is no guarantee

You could probably get around £450-500 for the lot if you sold it in your local paper or something.

 

I think you can get a new Dell (same-ish model) of that spec for around £600-700 new.
